Let us know if you get any feedback for the Raydiall UCase charger... I never tried to use it in cold temperatures.
It is strange though because it usually generates some heat which should help in this situation.
Tried the charger now. Does not work  :(
It has stayed in the car since I picked it up from the workshop yesterday, so it is thoroughly cold (minus 5). Have taken it inside, and my guess is that it will work (at least for some time) when it has heatened up.

I agree it does generate some heat, but apparently not enough. Maybe some faulted condensators on mine, which cannot handle the cold, as I get the blue light when hooking it up, and the fans start to spin. Just no white lights and no power going to the car...
Got an update from the dealer now (Autoria).
They had been in touch with Renault, as when they tested my charger there were no issues (they tested with Type 2, not Schuko).
After the temperatures dropped considerably in Norway over the last couple of weeks, Renault has received a large number of reports with chargers not working, so apparently there is a major issue going on here. At the moment Raydiall does not have a solution, hence they saw no point in replacing my charger, as the replacement would most likely have the same issue.

Their advise was to keep the charger inside in warm conditions before charging, at least as a temporary solution.

Not quite sure to make of this...  :o
Seems like using Type 2 and charging over 16A creates just enough heat in the charger to "keep it alive", and Schuko at only 10A does not. Strange that they have not included some kind of temperature controll on the cooling - the fans spin up at full speed also at -17 degrees which we had the other day, so no wonder it gets cold. It looks to be designed with only cooling in mind, with the aluminium case and all. I did try to slightly cover up the air vents to reduce air circulation, and that actually improved the situation. The aluminium case did still not get warm, but it did not go sticky cold either, like it usually does (and it kept on charging).
Will be interesting to see what solution they come up with. If this is an issue with the design, there will probably be a recall on the chargers with a change of certain parts, or full replacements.

Wow!
Thanks for the update!
Let us know if you hear that there will be a recall/retrofit of the charger.

Some news regarding the Info Energy menu:
You need to ask your garage to install the following updates: ACTIS 64756 and ACTIS 64273.
I really hope this is done automatically without asking from now one when you take your car to the yearly service, but who knows... :P

Did you try to warm the cables? Specifically the one with the pink plug, that was the problem for me after a tip from the dealer..

I can confirm that this is not done automatically so if you want the Energy Menu, you have to specifically ask for it.
It is quite nice if you are into that kind of details :)

Nice. I want this! :)
Would you be able to take any screenshots in Norwegian? (that I can share with my dealer when I ask for this :) )

You can see it in the user manual called "Renault Easy Connect - Multimediesystemer - EASY LINK-system". The big one, not the little one.
Pages 6.30 and 6.31.

#14. Mute the navigation voice for good

It took me a while to realize this, but getting rid of the navigation voice (especially nice when you are not using the navigation and still get a voice message about a city toll ahead or that you are in a dead-end street) is actually quite easy.
Just start the navigation to somewhere, and then in the top left corner click on the speaker icon. At the bottom of the screen (if you are quick enough) you can then adjust the sound level up and down and also mute it for good if you press on the icon on the right side of the toolbar.
Same procedure in reverse to enable it again :)

How to update the maps (Easy Link R110/135)

1- With the car on (ready to go), plug an empty USB memory stick (minimum 32gb) to the car and wait 10 seconds. The car has written some info into the memory stick for later.
2- On a PC/MacOs download "Renault connect toolbox" application: https://www.renault.co.uk/renault-connect/map-update.html#easy-link
3- Start the app and connect the USB memory stick
4- The app will tell you if there are any map updates available.
5- Follow app instructions
6- Once the download is completed and the USB is ready, go to the car, switch it on, and plug the usb. A message with the update will appear and it will take around 20min to update the maps.

Today I downloaded the maps version 2021.12

Looks like step 1 is not needed. But maybe it is because I entered my VIN in the Renault Connect Toolbox app on the PC after I launched it...

To renew a connect service contract, in theory, one has to go to myr.renault.no and log in with the same credentials you use for the app. Then you go to the Connect Store and choose the contract you want to renew. It can take up to 3 or 4 days for the contract to be active again from the moment you paid online. So patience.
If you can login onto myr.renault.no, contact your dealership.

It might be obvious for some, but you can not update the maps in Easy Link if you did not pay for the Navigation service. You will get a message in the Renault Connect Toolbox app on the PC.
