Hello! Thinking to order a M3P this week... I would like to avoid the winter wheels package from Tesla with the 20 inches. I read a lot about being able to put 19 or 18 inches and just got even more confused :). Anyone that could help me to clarify what are my options?

Thanks a lot

20" works surprisingly well, I would actually buy again.

this is my "2nd" season using them as I got the car early. TM3P

I took a model 3P for a test drive and yes they were working pretty well. Still I would prefer a 19 inches (more tires choices) and an higher profile of the tires that helps in case small sidewalk for example are covered in snow. Stupid example I know 😁. OFC in not possible I still go for the 3P anyway. Just wondering if someone managed to put smaller wheels.

I were going thru the same dilemma.
In addition to having more tire choises i liked the idea of changing the look og the car from summer to winter.

Most 19" will fit while a few 18" will fit. It's important to ensure that the rim fit on the hub as the performance has that ekstra lip on the inner part of the hub (i'm sure you've read all about that). My local dealer made sure everything would fit, and i needed a set of spacers anyway for the winter wheels.
Went with a set of grey 8,5x19" niche targa m127 on hakka r3. As winter tires has a thicker sidewall they dont look streched at all (which was my concern) and the tire is still further out than the rim, which reduces the risk of curbing.
The clearence between the rim and the rear brakes on mine are at an absolute minimum as the brake rubbed against the balancing weights on the inside of the rim. After i moved them further in, i havent  had any issues of freezing and so on. I actually like my winter wheels more than my summer wheels as i fint the originals a bit boring now that everybody have them.

Hope this helps and good luck :)

Both our cars have 18' wheels that fit P

Black Rhino and Zito

The Zito wheels are light (8kg) and not too expensive

I am very impressed by the Continental tires and somewhat disappointed by Nokian.

Both set cost about 18 k kr each with tpms, mounted on the car.

Options are 20", 19" and some 18" (brakes must fit inside, check with the seller).

I opted away from the standard Tesla rims for my winter shoes, as I prefer not to drive with the same set of rims throughout the year.

I also chose 19" as opposed to 20", as I appreciate a bit more rubber during winter time (18" is however out of the question).

Enjoy the car, I'm pretty sure you'll be truly satisfied - regardless of the winter rims you opt for.

Thanks for all the answers. The black rhino looks really good! I assume the have 19 as well. Where did you buy them? Probably I will get the car in February in Tesla skøyen, do you know if vianor or another shop pretty close ( dekkman I guess) could they just install a set of winter wheels?

No Chill Mode required  :)
