No idea, but the point was rather that leasing is way too expensive at the moment and clearly indicates that the dealers expect a considerable reduction in value of secondhand cars over the next couple of years.

Price is around 250k , he will pay 50k , so 20% of the value, which is quite close to what you are suppose to lose after one year for a new car.
With the current market, if you buy instead, are you sure you can sell it for more than 200k after this first year?....well I am not sure. Leasing is an option where you fix your loss. It could be that the drop with the new Leaf plus the new comers is even bigger.
Ok , a good deal would be to pay 15% so 37.5k ....but nobody would give you that, but the question is ...is it leasing too expensive or the elbil market currently bad for second hand cars?

arthur

Very few people, if any, would buy a new car only to sell the car after one year.

"Only" 1 out of 3 e-golfs in finn are from 2016. I think it happens more often in the elbil market. Maybe one doesnt buy it with the idea of selling it one year later but suddendly the car is outdated.

I am just discussing and open to hear the ideas. I am like dibun, I would need a car and I want to buy an electric car, but many new things are expected within 18 months.....what to do in the meantime?

ToWalkOrDrive

Instead of paying 50000 that dissapears in one year, you cold buy a 2011 trilling for 70.000 and try selling i for 55.000 in a year....maybe?

The market is in it's evolving stage so there is always a gamble. The question is how much you are going to bet. With Leaf leasing I am going to lease from August the time when I need the car most. Remember the new leaf is going to be launched in September and first ones will be delivered in December. The fact is my name for the new leaf will be always on top I am hoping to get the leaf by Jan 2018. There is a risk that I may not like the new leaf but that risk I need to always consider. If I like the new leaf then in theory I am only leasing for 5 months. Then the deal is good.

Trekkoppbil

With leasing i think it is common with 12, 24 or 36 months contracts, and limited kilometers.
At Gomore i see a 30kwh Tekna costs 66000kr for 12month,  and 108000kr for 24months 20 000km/y and insurance included.

How many km/year do you plan to drive?

My contract includes 12000km but I can increase with no extra cost.

For comparison:
I 2015 i bought a nearly new import Leaf, drove it well over 60 000 km and sold it in 2017. 20 months of ownership.
Depreciation and insurance cost me around 40 000,- in total.
The car had a factory warrant when I got it and when I sold it.

Case closed.

Yes, in 2015 you did that. Would you do that over again in 2017, with all Thats happening with New upcomkng models? Guess not.

AppleKnocker

A lot happened from 2015 to 2017. But of course more models will be launched from now to 2019.
I belive there will still be a demand for short range cars when they drop below a certain pricepoint.

I was surprised by the demand for a used Leaf in the kr 130-140 000 range. Never got so many calls on a used car. When you can get a good car for nearly half the price of a new one, people are interested.

Even with low milage, leasing electric cars is expensive. If you do high milage, it's a no brainer.
