Hello,

I have installed a nice charging station at home supplied with J1772 connector.

I would like to convert my Think City and my PCS to this standard.

I have managed the mechanical interface so far but I have some doubts regarding wiring and hook up.

Has anyone done it yet ?

Did you by any chance made more photos of the process of conversion?
Is this Gen1 or Gen2 car?
If it is a Gen1 car - do you get a faint glow of the plug symbol even though the car is not plugged?
Do you have a resistor mounted in the inlet?

Hello Baudemo,

This is a Gen2 Li-Ion

With the litterature provided by Stromskap378V it was easy !

Beside desoldering the old Think connector on the car, I had to modify the plug support plate. I had to drill aditional holes to move the plug 6 mm higher and a few mm towards the back to allow the door of the plug to open on a wider angle.

No additional resistor, nothing !

On the EVSE side I cut the plug from the cable and soldered the plug with the cable accordingly, no issue except that now it is allways in boost mode (Max Amp)

Yes, Gen2 is straight forward.
I did a conversion of a Gen1 car with Zebra to Type 1 inlet, and will have to revisit this soon.
