Advices for a newcomer

Hi there,

I am planning to go for an electric car, to cover the daily commute to work (aprox. 50km/day) and got interested into a Think City.
Now this kind of choice would be the first electric car for me and I was wondering if there are some advice on what and how to check for a newcomer.
So far I understood there have been 2 different battery types, the Zebra and the EnerDel type. Is there any obvious reason to rather choose one over the other, knowing that I will use the car in Finland all year around?
In fact I have a Think City offered as an EnerDel, 2+2, foldable roof out from the very last builds, since it got registered the very first time end of 2012.

I would reccomend the Zebra battery, because it will keep the same range all winter long. As long as you fit it out with a Webasto or Eberspächer diesel heater. The enerdel-battery is lithium, and suffer from shorter range in cold weather.

On the other hand, I suppose in the long run it is easier to exchange and repair the enerdel-batteries, compared to the Zebra. I have a Zebra-type of battery, and is very satisfied

I would advice to look closely at prices and compare with more mainstream cars such as I-miev, e-Up, Leaf.

There is a real difference in build quality.

Is there a way how to check the condition of the cells – so far the car has driven less than 10.000km and no service has been done. Related to the service is there a workshop manual existing for these cars?
