Sv: Nok et rekkevidde spørsmål. 120-130km/t på E18 i 6mil, lar det seg gjøre?

Hi Guys

I am new to this subforum but have driven a Think gen 2 for the past years and before that a gen 1 and bef.......

Anyway, I bought a Volt 2012 last week at an auction and I have read in the manual that in some models its possible to set the charging current in the touch screen. I cant figure out how to do that ?
Now my car as every option with navi, rear camera, BT, voice etc. and I figure they would not ad such a feature in a lesser equipped car.
So, is it possible to set the current and if so, how ?

Congratulations!
You can select between 6A and 10A charging current when using the original charging cable that comes with the care. To do this, you push the leaf-button on the left side of the center stack, select the middle tab on the screen (charging info) and you will find a button on the bottom of the screen saying "Change charging current". Select this, and you can change between 6A, which is standard, and 10A.
If you use a third party charging cable, this setting won't have any effect at all.

Thanks !

OK so I push the leaf button and selects the middel tab and I see this:

Now if I push the only selectable button I go to here :

This a bit off topic but when I go down and check the car at about 1700 hours I see this message:

The charging is suddenly 2 hours longer, maybee due to the setting of the charge power ?
The setting at the cable is at full blast and 4 leds are green.

Do you have the first version of the charging cable with a button and four LEDs?
I have attached a picture of how it looks.

If you have this one, then you can't select charging speed from the display. You have to use the button on the charging cable to select 10A.

The estimated time for completed charge is always calculated with 16A charging. So as soon as you connect your 10A cable, the charging time will increase by 60%. And the car takes a minute to calculate the new end time.

If you want to charge at full speed, you need to buy a 16A (or more) hardwired charging station.

Or you order a Charge Amps Blue Spark. I use this for my Opel Ampera. Works like a charm.

Kind regards

Yes, that's the cable I have.
Thanks guys for sorting it out for me, now I understand and it all comes together.
I wonder why this information is not in the manual ?

BTW

Does this mean there is a second version ?

Yes, the charging cable with the selector button was only used for the first model year of the Ampera/Volt in Europe. It proved to be unreliable, and didn't work at all in Norway.

I have attached a picture of my charging cable - the second version.
And I have also attached pictures of the menu choices I have to select 6/10A charging.

Sitatand didn't work at all in Norway.

???
Didn't work on the Norwegian 230V IT grid. It has to have 230V single phase with neutral to work. In Norway we have 230V between two phases and no neutral. It mistook the Norwegian grid for a ground problem, and didn't start the charging.
