Hi guys

I'm back.
After having owned and driven one Kewet(-93), one Renault Express (-95), one Think gen 1(-99) for the past 8 years or so I have finally upgraded to a Think gen 2. It's an -08 so it has the Zebra battery. Boy, is it great to not always have to look for a plug to charge the car as soon as stopping and always having to make overnight charges. Having about 45 km to and back from work I can actually drive for a couple of days before having to charge. I can also make sure I always charge at work where there are 5 free charging spots.
I really must say the gen 2 is a proper car both in solidity and drivability. Gen 1 always felt like a toy with far too many ill fitting plastic parts and a lack of power but this is different !

I have been reading the elbilwiki back and forth and have found a lot of useful information but a am baffled by the lack of i.e. a service manual. Did Think never do one ?

Here are some specific questions to the experts.

I have read that the driving lights are automatic (at least in Norway, it says) and I would expect the same to be true for Sweden since we have laws on driving lights during daytime as well. However my lights are off unless I switch them on and if I do, I tend to forget them on. They automatically go down to park so the power consumption is not too bad but it's annoying.
Is there a way to switch between automatic and manual daylight driving lights ?

When I bought the car ( at an auction) the bonnet (panseret) was open all the time which was because the lever to open the bonnet was broken. It was really a bitch to remove the lever from the car and I would like to remove the knee protectors below the steering wheel but they seem equally difficult to remove. Can someone give some hints on how to better access the three screws from the inside of the dashboard ? Or perhaps tell me how to remove the little shelf on the left side of the wheel to be able to better access the screws. Thats the one with the white and blue clip laying on it.
Btw, I bought a new lever at Ford (it's for the Mondeo) at a surprisingly modest price. It was SEK 111.
Is it of interest to ad the part number to the list at elbilwiki ?

I have read the discussions about the outside rear view mirrors and their origin and I'm afraid  I cannot help, but I am looking for the cover for the driver's side mirror if anyone has one to spare.

They are FIAT 500 mirrors, but the foot is different. So the cover on the foot is bespoke Think and difficult to get.

No, actually the mirrors are not Fiat 500 mirrors. If you believe they are - please provide a matching part number. I was at the fiat dealership and went through all of their mirrors and could not find a matching one.

Here are couple of photos:

I knew it, there was a trick.
Why does not the "  :  " count ? Surely the "b:" are the last caracters.
Anyway I'm in now. Thanks !

Thanks Nikolay
As you might remember I work at the electrical department of the large Swedish car company where rubbish bins are full of barely used electrical parts. I think I'll find something here, if not I'll get back to you. The problem so far has been finding the relays in the car but that might be easier with access to the US forum.
Btw Nikolay, my Nikometer for the Think Gen 1 is reacting strangly after a long cold and unused winter. I do not longer have access to the (I believe it is called) "special" tab where the special commands for charging for watering and such are. When trying to access I get promted to write my opening code but when I look the code is already in the Palm.
Any suggestions ?

The photos clearly shows that it is the same mirror with different feet. From the pivot point and down they are different. The mirror housing itself, the part that pivots, are the same.

I do not want to have a flame war on what the photos show or if fiat mirrors are the same as the Think ones.
I am merely providing my point of view based on my experience spending some time at the dealer and browsing through their catalogue, and trying to find replacement for the cover of the mirror - the silver part that covers the motor, etc. I was not successful at it.
I will not entertain any comment further comments on the mirror subject, unless you provide part number or an alternative way to find a compatible mirror from fiat.
Go to the fiat dealer (or call them) and ask "can I buy mirror for fiat 500?" and see what they respond.
