Hallo,

Please forgive me for writing this in English.
I am hoping that you can give me some advice.
When we lived in the USA in 2013 we leased a new Nissan Leaf and after the 2 year lease ended we bought it outright.
We then emigrated back to the UK last year and liked the Leaf so much we brought it with us.

Now I think I will sell it.

So my question is how much do you think I could sell it for to a Norway buyer and what would be the best website that I should post it for sale on?

I am pretty sure that Norway is the best country for me to sell a LHD Leaf in but perhaps I am wrong.

It has never had an accident - car fax will be clean.
31,331 miles. 1 bar gone.
battery heater. Quick Charge package / 6.6k onboard charger.

The main website for advertising used cars in Norway, is finn.no/bil.
I think most Norwegians is just searching at Finn, when they are looking for cars or homes etc.
I think it is not easy to sell cars from abroad at Finn. When the buyers are searching for cars, they have to choose between searching for cars in Norway, or abroad, and of course everyone is searching for cars in Norway, and they will not find your advertisement.
And Finn is expensive.

There is a free website called autodb.no, that you can try. A lot of car sellers are advertising here, but there are not so many buyers here.

You can advertise the car in the "Kjøp og salg av elbiler/elkjøretøy" section of this Forum.

I guess there might be thousends of US Leafs in Norway, and there is a market for these cars.

I suspect you will be better off selling the cat within the European Union - as the market here is well saturated and shipping costs will be around 10% of vehicle value.

The car being the lowest trim level and one bar lost causes a lower value than SL trim and no bars lost, which would be worth around €14k here.

GBP 14K is way more than current market price. If this particular car was registered in Norway I think NOK 80K would be maximum. I.e. less than GBP 8K.

Thank you very much to you for your replies I really appreciate the advice.

Sorry for the delayed response.  Still driving the car in the UK :)

Hi.
The  cheapest 2013 Leaf at finn.no at this moment, is also a US leaf.

https://www.finn.no/car/used/ad.html?finnkode=105437843

Cost 110k Nok, but probably dont have the 6.6kW charger. No baterydots gone. Its Norwegian registered an probably way easyer to sell than one that not. Just so you could compair...

Best economic is probably what you are doing now, use it yourself

That car has lost 1 battery dot.
Expect it to have a SOH of around 83-84.

I suggest you get in contact with a dealership like Autonova. They specialize in import Leafs, and might give you an appraisal if you provide good pics and info if they inquire that from you. Norwegians, like myself, will most likely not acquire an imported Leaf outside such a dealership because the dealerships provide an extended warranty towards the battery and some other parts.

I'm not sure if the depletion of your battery is a deal breaker or not, but it's free for you to send them a request. Here's their site:

Contact info is in the right pane above the map.

Good luck with your sale!

The Norwegian market is volatile this year. This Spring there was 700 advertisements for Leaf at Finn.no. The cars were hard to sell. Buyers are waiting for future models. This summer, i think import of used cars slowed down. Importers were afraid that it could become difficult to sell old cars, after the announcement of new Leaf sept 6th. Now there is just 200 advertisements on Finn, and cars in the 100 000kr segment are just gone. The buyers need the cars now, because of new restrictions against diesel cars. And the NOK has increased little bit.

I think there are Norwegian buyers that are happy to pay the price you paid when you bought it outright. I guess you can cover your overseas shipping cost as well.

You can take some nice pictures of the car and announce it here: https://elbilforum.no/forum/index.php/board,11.0.html
And here: autodb.no
Not many buyers are looking at Autodb, but it is free, and it might be the best option you have from abroad.

In October it is not easy to sell a car without winter wheels.
Some costs in Norway:
About 1200kr at the port of Drammen for RoRo. If the car comes in container, it can be much more expensive.
About 500kr fee for AC. VAT is 0%, but you might pay a small fee in commision for the import charges.
2400kr for scrapping return.
120 kr for permanent number signs.
300kr a day for temporary numbers.
30-40 kr for warning Triangle at Biltema. And reflective west is needed.
I am not sure if there is any fees at the traffic stations when you import a car from EU. I guess the car has single approve for EEA, and do you have the documentations?

E_S

When you import the car from an EU/EEC country, you only need the two parts of the registration documents from the country of registration for the inspection. The inspection fee is around NOK 500,-. Very simple process.
