Hello all!

Firstly apologies for the post in English, I'm not yet fluent in Norwegian!

I've been in Norway for a year and decided it was time to buy a Norewegian car, and as I live 30km from Oslo, thought it was best to get an EV.

I purchased a blue 2002 Saxo with a lithium conversion that had been in storage for nearly a year and had some problems, but mainly very low cell voltage.

I'm now close to having the Saxo on the road after much tinkering and fixing.

I've managed to drive the car about 2 km but need to replace some cells in the battery pack.

So far I've slowly recharged the cells and re-programmed the battery management system, replaced a burnt out relay and had a new wheel bearing fitted. I still have to work out why I get an intermittent isolation (insulation) fault, but think that may be beacuse the car has been stood so long and may be damp.

Can anyone suggest where I could get some ThunderSky / Winston 160Ah cells from in Norway?

Thanks

Glen

Hello and gratulations with your car.

The intermittant isolation problem is most likely caused by carbon build up near the brushes, shorting to earth. Take the motor apart and clean it.

I have some spare 160 Ahr cells that are about 130 Ahr in capasity. You may have theese for 1000 NOK / each incl value added tax. Will need some time to confirm theese are OK before shipping, as they are out off a car with similar past as your car.

Hi Elektrolux

Are the cells Winston / Thundersky, and how many do you have? What internal resistance are they and how old are they?

I need 9 or 10 cells and is the price negotiable as I'm able to get 120ah new cells for 1500kr each including MVA?

I'm based near Oslo so is it possible to send the cells by post or courier?

I'll have a look at the brushes on the motor and that area for carbon build up, is there a link to any instructions on the net for removal of the motor etc.

Thanks for your advice and help, very much appreciated :)

I have about 30 cells that can be used. Price can be adjusted for capasity. 1000 kr for 130 Ahr, and 100 kr / 10 Ahr in deduction for any redused capasity under this.
